Dr. Akosoa McFadgion is a trained social worker and research psychologist. With over 20 years’ experience, she has conducted research that examined child sexual abuse prevention, the intersection of HIV, Substance Abuse, and Domestic violence, and the prevalence of traumatic brain injuries among survivors of intimate partner violence. She continues to conduct research and training in healthy relationships, trauma, domestic violence, family violence, and how these factors influence the health of women and girls. She is also particularly effective in engaging campus communities to promote health and wellness for faculty, staff, and students. Dr. McFadgion is the Director of the Interpersonal Violence Prevention Program at Howard University and lives in Washington, DC with her wonderful husband and two children.
