Welcome
Rape is an act of violence and control, using sex as a weapon. It is not motivated by sexual desire, but by the desire to overpower and dominate another person.
Healing emotionally after rape can be a complex process. You do not have to go on this journey alone. One of the most important things you can do to help yourself is to get as much support as possible. DCRCC offers free individual, couple, and family counseling, a variety of support groups, and a 24-hour hotline.
