DCRCC is the CDC appointed state sexual assault coalition for the District of Columbia. We view this appointment as a high calling to advocate for policy that impacts survivors of sexual violence. DCRCC is also committed to building capacity in the sector with local and national entities, in order to create laws that will combat sexual violence and power a culture of consent.
WHY DOES POLICY MATTER TO DCRCC
Policy matters to DCRCC because it provides the building blocks and infrastructure that shape survivor experience when accessing support. We advocate in partnership with survivors to ensure that systems who respond to sexual assault survivors have a standard of inclusivity and care that is trauma-informed and survivor centered.
