Director of Education and Training
The Director of Education and Training is responsible for managing and implementing many of DCRCC’s training, community education and technical assistance activities, as well as serving as the point of contact for information and referrals, training, education and technical assistance requests from partners,stakeholders and community at large.
- Provide support, consultation, technical assistance and training to partners, stakeholders and community members in order to assist service providers in strengthening their capacity to provide culturally competent and survivor-centered services that are reflective of the diverse population they serve.
- Facilitates and develops curriculum for community and school-based training.
- Integrate innovative initiatives to use public education and experiential learning to mobilize community engagement and participant-led collaboration.
- Work with agency to identify, develop and/or update DCRCC’s training materials, resources including, but not limited to, online trainings, training manuals, other training materials, brochures,handbooks and technical papers. Work with Directors to plan/implement trainings.
- Identify other programmatic needs and possible strategies for meeting those needs in consultation with the Program Directors, Executive Director and other staff.
- Collaborate the development and delivery of DCRCC training curriculums and materials including in-person training, webinars, and teleconferences.
- Provide training to advocates, allied professionals and the community at large through an antioppression framework.
- Work collaboratively with partners and allied professionals to reduce barriers to providing services for sexual assault survivors.
- Conduct research and identify outside resources and materials related to dynamics of sexual violence, advocacy and training best practices, surveying latest research and publications.
- Identify and disseminate research and materials that will assist those working with sexual assault survivors to adhere to best practices and answer technical assistance needs.
- Conduct follow up evaluation to assess effectiveness of information provided.
- Assist with grant management and reporting as requested.
- Complete all appropriate documentation and tracking paperwork.
- Contribute to agency’s developing understanding and integration of empowerment and strengthsbased strategies within an anti-oppression and social justice framework.
- Carry out all job duties collaboratively and cooperatively.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular weekly schedule
- Serve monthly hotline hours as a CSA and Backup Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as social work, sociology, political science, women’s studies, or closely related field. Master’s degree and/or licensed professionals preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of related professional experience providing training in a community-based agency, preferable within a community-based sexual violence advocacy program setting, with at least one year focused on sexual violence topics
- Proficient knowledge of sexual violence, social justice and anti-oppression work and/or issues related to sexual assault intervention and prevention, as well as rape crisis standards and operations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, work independently and with a team, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to issues involved in working with diverse populations and organizations.
- Experience in working with diverse populations.
- Experience in developing programs in response to diverse needs.
- Commitment to anti-racism and social justice values, ethics and work.
- Demonstrating understanding of, and commitment to culturally competent, empowerment, strengthsbased strategies within an anti-oppression and social justice framework
- Commitment to dealing with the complexities of societal power and privilege in order to understand how multiple forms of oppression intersect with agency’s work to end sexual violence.
- Demonstrated success with implementing complex projects, including engaging and coordinating with other partners.
- Experience with training, planning and management, preferably with a statewide organization.
- Experience and comfort with public speaking, providing training to diverse professionals and facilitating meetings
- Knowledge of training paradigms and modalities and adult learning styles.
- Knowledge of distance learning forums and methodology.
- Experience and skills in technical writing and publications development.
- Proficiency with the technology necessary for the functions of the position, including demonstrated ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; web-based training platforms; and audio/visual equipment.
- Management or appropriate related experience
- Excellent public and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Flexible and able to respond to emerging issues as they arise.
Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. Hours: Position is full-time with hours outside of weekly regular schedule.
